silex technology's "S1" Fingerprint Authentication Sensor Links Up with
NETMARKS' "SecureSuite XS for Bugyo" Authentication Software
The "S1" corium fingerprint authentication sensor marketed by silex technology, Inc. (Head office: Higashiosaka-shi, Osaka; President: Takeshi Kono; hereafter "silex") and the "SecureSuite XS for Bugyo"*1 authentication software package marketed by NETMARKS INC. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Atsushi Ohashi; hereafter "NETMARKS") have linked up. This will make it possible to offer secure authentication solutions that satisfy the demand for advanced authentication systems among medium and large business enterprises.

NETMARKS' "SecureSuite XS for Bugyo" is a customized version of NETMARKS' own "SecureSuite XS"*2 multi-device authentication software package, in which the password manager function*3 has been customized for use with OBC's "Bugyo Series". "SecureSuite XS for Bugyo" will make it possible to create single sign-on environments in which ID and password are automatically entered into "Bugyo Series" applications when the user logs on to a Windows PC.
The "S1", adopted as the recommended fingerprint reader for use with "SecureSuite XS for Bugyo" uses RF technology to read fingerprints below the surface layer of the skin in the "corium" layer, where fingerprints remain consistent, making it possible to acquire fingerprint minutiae with great accuracy, even when the surface layer of the skin is dry or damaged. Because the swipe sensor used in the "S1" is a film-type sensor and does not require the finger to be in direct contact with the surface of the sensor, it is also among the toughest and most resistant to static electricity, damage to the sensor surface, soiling, etc. in the industry.
"By allowing us to add the highly availability "S1" corium fingerprint reader to "SecureSuite XS", the alliance with silex will enable us to offer our clients a wide range of solutions that link "SecureSuite XS" with fingerprint authentication devices."
(Yoshihito Nakato, Authentication Systems Group, Advanced Solutions Division, NETMARKS)
"Meeting the demand for implementation in customers' Active Directory environments has been an issue for our "SX-Biometrics Suite" of log-on software products, which are already popular with many users in Japan and overseas, but the link-up with "SecureSuite XS", whose track record demonstrates its high compatibility with AD environments, will allow us to offer corium fingerprint authentication products to a wide range of customers."
(Yoshio Okano, silex Biometrics Division)
silex and NETMARKS plan to use "SecureSuite XS for Bugyo" as a basis for the further expansion of their sales of the "Silex S1", the recommended fingerprint reader for that application, and other biometrics-related products.
