NETMARKS Expands Lineup of Protocol Analyzers for Fibre Channels
- Distribution Agreement for Japanese market signed with Finisar Corporation -

NETMARKS INC. (Moto-Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Atsushi Ohashi; "NETMARKS") has signed a distribution agreement covering the Japanese market with Finisar Corporation (California, USA; President & CEO: Jerry Rawls; "Finisar"). Under this agreement, NETMARKS will market Finisar's protocol analyzers for fibre channels, network taps and other network tools, and provide support services from April 2007. NETMARKS plans to target computer storage network equipment makers and telecommunications providers and hopes to achieve first-year sales of \500 million.

SANs (storage area networks) are widely used as a convenient means of centralized management of storage and data sharing, and the basis of SAN architecture is fibre channel technology. In addition to fibre channels, recent years have seen increasing use of a number of high-speed serial data transfer protocols as storage interfaces, including serial attached SCSI (SAS), parallel ATA (PATA) and serial ATA (SATA). The analysis and verification of data traffic performance with a range of high-speed serial data transfer protocols plays an important part in the design and development of the fibre channel equipment, SAS/SATA drives, etc. that go to make up an SAN.

Since 1998, NETMARKS has supplied a range of products including protocol analyzers for fibre channel use, fibre channel HBAs (host bus adapters) and fibre channel switch products, and has accumulated a wealth of technical know-how on the basis of its outstanding sales record and extensive experience.

Finisar offers a range of products suitable for use with multiple protocols, including the "Xgig" family of protocol analyzers for fibre channel use, whose easy-to-use GUIs and wealth of functions help to cut design and development times and reduce costs.
